News: ​Murcia launches campaign to attract more Scandinavian visitors

Murcia and Costa Cálida authorities for Tourism recently visited Denmark and Sweden to promote the Region, with the aim of bringing more off-season visitors from those countries to the coast of Murcia.

In order to achieve this, a series of workshops were organised in the cities of Malmo and Gothenburg, where representatives of the Murcia Instituto de Turismo had the opportunity to meet and chat with over 100 tour operators and journalists in direct contact with the Swedish market.

There are plenty of attractions the Region of Murcia can offer visitors, including golf tourism, health and wellbeing tourism, wine tourism, golf and city breaks, adventure tourism and business tourism, as well as the mild winter climate on the beautiful beaches of the Costa Cálida.

Representatives from the delegation from Murcia are currently in the city of Copenhagen in Denmark where they are hoping to attract a good number of tour operators from the southernmost country of Scandinavia.

Nowadays Scandinavia is the third most productive market for the Costa Cálida in terms of visitor numbers, with over 61,500 visitors in the first three quarters of this year representing 9% of all foreigners arriving in the Region of Murcia.
