News: ​A Russian delegation visited Torrevieja´s sports facilities

The Deputy Mayor of Torrevieja, Fanny Serrano, recently met with a Russian delegation led by Sergey Poddubniy, vicepresident of the Parliament of the Russian Federation for Sport, Tourism and Youth. Together they took a tour of the municipal Sports City in order to get to know the facilities first-hand, including the indoor courts, soccer field and the athletics track.

During the tour of the facilities they were accompanied by a technician of the Department of Sports who responded to all the questions raised by the Russian representatives. The Russian delegation will now calibrate different possibilities such as the Sports City become a training ground for the Russian national team and also for the Paralympics.

Former world table tennis champion Sergey Poddubniy is now responsible for organizing international sport events in his country. For her part, Fanny Serrano said that Torrevieja in Costa Blanca South is the perfect place to combine the practice of sport with great weather and many tourist attractions.
