When you plan to leave Los Dolses for a one-day excursion, there are a few options that may be of interest to you. For instance, you can go north and visit the cosmopolitan city of Alicante, where you fill find great beaches and a fantastic marina, not to mention the large variety of shops, fine restaurants and bars and the historic town centre which is a must see.

For a bit more history, head over to the city of Murcia or try the nearby towns of Orihuela and Rojales with their old towns and the traditional cave houses. You may also visit the inland town of Elche, famous for its extensive palm tree forest, which is part of Unesco World Heritage. Close to Elche you can visit the lovely tourist resort of Santa Pola, once a typical fishing village with fine sand beaches. In Santa Pola there is also an aquarium that both children and adults can enjoy.

A 15 minutes drive can also get you to Guardamar del Segura, a large coastal town with great beaches and a traditional Spanish flavour, or in the summer you can visit the water parks in Rojales and Torrevieja.

Just 5 minutes drive from Los Dolses on the N332 you can find a fantastic Go Karts track with cafe-bar, viewing gallery and fun fair for the little ones. The place caters for ages from 3 years old plus and the karts here are seriously fast!

You can also visit the stables in the Cabo Roig area, 10 minutes drive from Los Dolses. Kids in particular will love this but we are sure that people of all ages will enjoy a horse ride through the orange and lemon groves in such a beautiful scenery.
