La Ciñuelica

La Ciñuelica is a Spanish seaside tourist resort located in Costa Blanca South, very close to the much sought-after urbanization of Punta Prima, in Orihuela Costa. La Ciñuelica is situated only 35 minutes from the international airports of Murcia and Elche-Alicante. From both airports you have different transfer options to La Ciñuelica, including buses, taxis or car hire.

Golf lovers can find three golf courses less than 10 minutes´drive from La Ciñuelica, and a few more within one hour´s drive from the resort. Campoamor Golf, Villamartín Golf and Las Ramblas Golf are the three courses closest to the area. Campoamor Golf features long and wide fairways with challenging greens and slopes. Located 25 kilometres from Orihuela Costa and having around 50,000 inhabitants, Orihuela is a major town within the province of Alicante on the Costa Blanca about 55 kilometres south-west of Alicante city heading inland.

Orihuela has one of the largest cultural heritages in the area and was home to the famous Spanish poet Miguel Hernandez. In the 8th century Orihuela was converted into the capital of the Christian kingdom. Later on, during the Muslim conquest, the city was able to conserve its independence until the 9th century and it was re-conquered by Castilla in the 13th century. Three centuries later, it was graced with being the Episcopal Headquarters. Up until now, it has taken great pride in maintaining all its monuments, which you certainly must visit.

A few of the main things to see in Orihuela are the Cathedral of El Salvador showing a Gothic style located in the historic Calle Mayor, the Palace of Rubalcava, used nowadays for weddings, the Casino Orcelitano which dates from the 19th century, the Santa Justa y Rufina Church of various styles including Gothic and Baroque and the School of Santo Domingo, originally a Dominican Convent, converted to a university in the 16th century. Orihuela is also home to numerous museums open all year round with free admission.
