News: ​Beach handball championship in Campoamor this weekend

If you are in the Orihuela Costa - Torrevieja area this weekend there is one sports event you should not miss. The Arena Handball Tour beach handball championship will be held on July 2nd and 3rd on La Glea beach in Campoamor.

This is the first competition of its kind to take place in Orihuela Costa and there will be 28 top level teams and 28 youth teams taking part. This is an important tournament since it is officially part of the European Federation and the Royal Spanish Handball Federation. Over 400 players from different regions of Spain will be participating in the championship, which will take place Saturday from 9am until 8pm and Sunday from 9am to 2pm, finishing with the presentation of trophies.

La Glea beach in Campoamor is one of the longest on the Orihuela Costa, with an official length of 513 metres and it is equipped with a wide range of facilities, such as complete safety measures (lifeguards, watchtower and first aid point), a children's play area, jet-ski and pedal-boat hire, sunbeds and sunshades, etc.
