Property for rent in Sea Senses Punta Prima

Can the lock be changed without notifying the owner in a rental apartment?

It is a common question when renting a home. Security is important to the tenant, who fears that more copies of the house keys may exist and may be misused.

In this article we want to clear doubts and questions on this topic. It will always be convenient to talk to the homeowner before doing anything. And it may not be a good idea to change the lock on a vacation rental.

Is it legal to change the lock without notifying the owner?

Yeah, it's cool. In principle, it is not obligatory to inform you that you have changed the bowler. However, it is always better to do this after informing the owner. We should not get caught up and make sure you do not find out later and problems arise later.

Do I have to give a copy of the key to the owner? Could I demand it?

When a lease is signed, the landlord relinquishes the use of the dwelling to the tenant and, therefore, loses the right to enter it, so it could not require a key of the new lock. In fact, if the landlord entered the house without the consent of his tenant, he could be committing a crime.

And when I leave the house?

When leaving the house there would be two options: put back the bowler that was when we arrived or leave the one that we put and give the keys to the owner of the house so that he can enter.
