Properties for Sale in Ciudad Quesada Costa Blanca

Ciudad Quesada is located next to the typical Spanish town of Rojales, south of the Alicante province, just 8 kilometers north from the major town of Torrevieja and a 10 minutes´ drive to the beautiful beaches of Guardamar del Segura.

Ciudad Quesada was created by businessman Justo Quesada Samper in the 1970´s when he decided to design and build his own town. The urbanisation started to flourish and it finally became a very stylish and quiet town where many families from all over Europe have their permanent and seasonal residences. The ambitious project of more than 15,000 homes turned into a great residential development with more than 30,000 properties built around a fantastic golf course.

Weather

The weather in Ciudad Quesada is the typical Costa Blanca weather, so get ready for those summer long days and barbecues at night, outdoor activities and sports. When you holiday or live permanently in Ciudad Quesada, you will enjoy the sun and the Mediterranean light most every day since this area boasts more than 320 sunny days a year.

Ciudad Quesada has plenty of shops, bars and restaurants, as well an 18-hole golf course and aqua park so it does have its own unique attractions. In Ciudad Quesada you can also find bank offices, chemist, health centre, solicitors, hotel, spa resort, a Norwegian school and even a Town Hall office. There are also free municipal tennis courts and the lovely Parque Recorral which has picnic benches and many unmarked walking and cycling routes.

The urbanisation is well-designed with good landscaped features and the views are really good. Inland from Ciudad Quesada you have the mountains, while the countryside surrounding this sought-after resort includes orange groves and the salt lakes of Torrevieja.

La Marquesa Golf Course

The golf course in Ciudad Quesada is called La Marquesa and it was designed and founded in 1989 by Justo Quesada. Due to its proximity to Alicante city it quickly reached a significant number of members and initially it was estimated that at least 70% of players from the Alicante province had hit their first balls in the cosmopolitan golf course of La Marquesa.

Many diferent people from many different nationalities have become members of the club and have bonded into a very friendly environment. Throughout the years, the golf course has undergone some technical and design improvements, nevertheless respecting the principle of offering a varied route, where the player can have fun while practising their favourite sport.

Golf lovers can find four more courses in just a short drive, namely La Finca Golf in the nearby town of Algorfa, and Campoamor Golf, Villamartin Golf and Las Ramblas Golf in Orihuela Costa.

Beaches Nearby

There are numerous excellent beaches not far from Ciudad Quesada, such as the award-winning sandy Blue Flag beaches of Guardamar del Segura, Torrevieja and La Mata. These beaches are only a 10 minutes´ drive and in around 20 minutes you can reach many other wonderful beaches in Orihuela Costa, including those of Punta Prima, La Zenia, Playa Flamenca, Cabo Roig and Campoamor.

If you are planning to holiday or buy property in Ciudad Quesada, here are some ideas for excursions so you make the most of your stay when visiting the Costa Blanca South: you can visit the inland town of Elche, famous for its palm groves, or you can head south for the quiet waters of La Manga in Mar Menor. You may also get to the historic city of Murcia in less than an hour, or you can simply visit the neighbouring town of Rojales that has a traditional Spanish feel to it including cave houses to explore.

Rojales used to be a traditional farming village. Through time, it has expanded into a town with a large sports hall, a theatre and large residential areas. This town is quieter than nearby Torrevieja and Guadamar and it holds a popular street market every Thursday.

In the town centre there is a pretty church, a local museum and a lovely village square. The river Segura runs through the centre of Rojales, a charming place where many of the locals spend their spare time with the family.

How to get here

The international airport of Elche-El Altet in Alicante is less than 30 km away and Murcia airport is 35 km away. Both Rojales and Ciudad Quesada are easily accessible, well connected with both the coastal towns of the Costa Blanca as well as inland Vega Baja. There are bus routes to all the large towns from the centre of Rojales.

Ciudad Quesada offers plenty of entertainment for all ages all year round and for all nationalities with fiestas held in summer which are very popular and well worth a visit if you are looking for a good time. In you enjoy walking or cycling, there is a nice route to cycle round the salt lake in a lovely scenery. You can also drive to San Pedro del Pinatar and cycle round to La Manga and then take the boat back. This would make a great day out.

Ciudad Quesada is part of Rojales and includes a few smaller but very sought-after urbanisations such as Doña Pepa, Pueblo Bravo, Pueblo Lucero and Lo Pepín.
